Mass Academy

Mass Academy is a magnet school for juniors and seniors that is a part of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. It was created in 1992 by the Massachusetts State Legislature. Juniors go to school at 85 Prescott Street, while seniors take college classes at WPI. Each class has about fifty students. During junior year, the class is divided into three sections: Advanced Spanish, French, and Intermediate Spanish. A normal school day for juniors is from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. On most days, there are also extracurriculars that last until 4:30, such as CAD, e-NABLE, programming team, robotics, mock trial, and more. The extracurriculars change every term. Students begin school in mid-August, but they get out for summer break at around Memorial Day. Instead of a February and April break, students get an October and March break. Juniors take seven classes: Computer Science, Foreign Language, Humanities, Math, Physics, STEM, and STW. Visit the subject pages for more information regarding a specific subject. Visit the Mass Academy website for more information regarding the school. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at djng@wpi.edu.
